I have been to Atlanta what feels like a million times in my life, but I've always gone there for a specific purpose, and it usually was a quick trip. So I decided to take my girls to Atlanta this year to celebrate my birthday. It was the perfect choice because it was close, we didn't waste a whole ton of time driving, it was halfway between me and my other friend coming from Alabama, they're definitely not short on things to do, and they were relatively open. So we got a cheap hotel and let the adventures begin.
We started out Saturday morning at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. My personal favorites were all the different types of orchids, and the left over fixtures from the Chihuly exhibit. After the Botanical Gardens, we headed across Piedmont Park to eat lunch at The Nook. Their special Totchos (nachos made with tater tots) hit the spot. Next we headed to Lenox Square to the TFTI photo exhibit. For someone like me, who takes pictures excessively and obsessively, this was the perfect thing.

We ended Saturday with a ride on the SkyView ferris wheel, pictures at Centennial Park, and a wonderful dinner at Maggiano's. We had other after dinner plans, but we remembered we were old and went back to the hotel and went to bed. 😂

Overall we had a fun packed weekend and left tired and happy. We all agreed that the trip bore repeating to try out even more new things next time.
